I need this to be able to easily demo code irl to people
@cloudymax and I were looking at apache guacamole, but it takes effort, so we haven't done the deep dive yet.
https://guacamole.apache.org/
Guacamole uses web sockets, which always makes me nervous. Why is it 2022 and the state of sharing computer screens is still so bad unless you want to be entirely locked into one OS? Like, if we used only linux, or only mac, or only windows, this would be solved, but the support for many distros and requirement of the solution being FOSS, adds so many layers of complexity, which continually back burners this issue :/
I am closing this for now, as we started using zellij at work and it's been hugely helpful. Highly recommend. For airserver music, we're using spotifyd + spotify-tui and for videos, we don't have anything great yet, but we've been using RDP when we absolutely need to share a full GUI.
If anyone in the future finds this post and knows of a good airserver replacement that can run on Debian, please comment and I will reopen this ticket and get work with @cloudymax :)
